We spent two days in DC with Tammy, Brandon, and Matt…our daughter and two grandsons.
We started the day out at the Aerospace Museum. There was no amount of time available to see it all, of course, but we did try to cover what the boys wanted to see.
Grandpa was pushing Brandon along towards the end as there was plenty more to see.
On to The Monuments….Roosevelt was the first stop, while I was there I was able to get my National Park passbook stamped for all the National Monuments we saw while in DC…Lincoln, we actually took a selfie ( so cool ) saw the reflection pond, as well but no Forest! Korean War, Vietnam Wall, Martin Luther King. So much History….so little time
The next day we went to the Museum of Natural History, and The Art Museum. These two are a must, in my opinion….before we left DC we also stopped at The Arlington Cemetery where we were able to watch the changing of the guards and visited the gravesite of President Kennedy and family. It was raining when we were at the cemetery so that was all we saw. It a very beautiful peaceful place. Remarkably big, and sadly to say they are running out of space. I was told they do 25 funerals a day.
We had such an amazing time in DC and sharing this with family made the 13 miles we walked a breeze. Until next time.
